General Information

What is online notarization?

Online notarization is completed through a live audio-video session with a notary. Identity is verified electronically, and documents are signed digitally.

What documents can be notarized online?

Generally speaking, if it can be notarized in person, it can be done online. However, certain government-issued or certified records cannot be notarized. More importantly, some receiving parties may require in-person notarization or wet signatures. Always check with the party requesting the document to confirm they will accept remote online notarization.

What about documents requiring witnesses?

Our online notarization platform supports witnesses and witness identification.

How does the process work?

Click on the "Notarize Online" button. It will take you to our partner, the online notarization platform. Next, click on the red "Get Started" button. From there, just follow the onscreen instructions. You will be guided through the preparation process and then we will be connected through the platform.

The platform will guide you through each step of the process, and the notary will assist during the session. You will typically upload your document, verify your identity, and provide payment information before being connected with a notary.

Will I have to provide payment information first?

Yes. The platform will ask for payment information before connecting you with a notary.

How long does it take?

Once connected, most notarizations take only a few minutes. Additional time may be required if identity verification or document issues arise.

How is pricing determined?

The online notarization platform determines pricing based on the document, number of signatures, and other factors. Fees are displayed during the early stages of the process.

Is online notarization secure?

Definitely yes! Online notarization platforms are required by law to use identity verification and security measures to help ensure the integrity of the notarization process and the protection of all stored data.

What happens if the notarization is not completed?

If a problem occurs, the process can usually be restarted or resumed after resolving the issue. Fees are determined by the platform. In some cases, charges may apply even if the notarization is not completed.
